Year 9 students have begun the process of considering their Option Choices for their forthcoming Key Stage 4 courses. Students will be asked to choose four Option Subjects to complete their Key Stage 4 curriculum.

Core Subjects
Students will study all of the core subjects below:
- English Language and English Literature (equivalent to 2 GCSEs)
- Mathematics
- Science
- Combined Science (equivalent to 2 GCSEs)
- Three Separate Sciences (Biology, Chemistry & Physics - 3 GCSEs)
- Core PE (non-GCSE)
Options Subjects
Students will study four of the Options Subjects below:

- Art, Craft and Design or Graphics - only one can be selected
- Business Studies
- Computer Science
- Design and Technology
- Drama
- French
- Geography
- History
- Media Studies
- Music
- Physical Education
- Psychology
- Religious Studies
- Separate Science
- Sociology
- Spanish
Vocational Qualifications
- BTEC Tech Award in Business Studies Level 1 and 2
- BTEC Tech Award in Sport Level 1 and 2
- BTEC Tech Award in Health and Social Care Level 1 and 2
- BTEC Tech Award in Information and Creative Technology Level 1 and 2
As part of the Year 9 Options Process, all students are offered a careers interview with our Careers Advisor, Mrs Thompson, to support them in their decision-making process. They are also given an options work booklet to go through with staff in Tutor Time.
