Teach Maidenhead (University of Reading ITE Hub) is the foremost teacher training provider west of London. For the academic year 2024-2025 we are offering unsalaried secondary School Direct places. We are partnered with an outstanding accredited provider, The University of Reading who is highly regarded and established provider of high quality training and research, ranked 9th in the UK for Education (The Guardian University League Table 2024).  Successful trainees gain PGCE, QTS and 60 Master's level credits. There are six schools in the Teach Maidenhead partnership: Furze Platt Senior School (Lead School) Cox Green School, Altwood Church of England School, Desborough College, Holyport College and Newlands Girls' School.

What We Offer
We provide comprehensive Initial Teacher Training (ITT) through both Primary and Secondary routes, working in collaboration with a network of outstanding local schools. Our programs combine hands-on classroom experience with expert-led academic training, ensuring you receive a well-rounded education. You'll benefit from personalized mentorship, continuous professional development, and the opportunity to build strong connections within a vibrant educational community.

How to Apply
Applying to Teach Maidenhead is straightforward. Prospective candidates should apply through the Department for Education’s Apply for Teacher Training portal. Our entry requirements typically include:

  • A UK degree (or equivalent)
  • GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics (and Science for primary teaching)
  • A strong passion for teaching and commitment to working with young people

Once your application is received, shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, where you'll have the chance to demonstrate your enthusiasm and suitability for the teaching profession.
