Year 9 students have begun the process of considering their Option Choices for their forthcoming Key Stage 4 courses. Students will be asked to choose four Option Subjects to complete their Key Stage 4 curriculum.

As part of the Year 9 Options Process, all students are offered a careers interview with our Careers Advisor, Mrs Thompson, to support them in their decision-making process. They are also given an options work booklet to go through with staff in Tutor Time.

Options Assembly – introduction to the options process to all Year 9 students. All Personal Development sessions will be focused on careers and options.

Careers Fair – Students will have the opportunity to meet universities, colleges, apprenticeship training providers and employers.

Year 9 Careers Interviews – every student will meet with Mrs Thompson to discuss their career aspirations.

Subject Assemblies – Departments will present about the subjects they offer to help students select four subjects for their Options Taster Afternoon (not their final options at this stage).
14th February 2025
Students will be choosing their four subjects for the Options Taster Afternoon (these are not their final option choices at this stage). It is an opportunity to experience subjects they are considering. They will be doing this in school.
27th February 2025
Year 9 Parents Evening – Opportunity to speak to all subject staff to discuss your son/daughter’s progress.
13th March 2025
Options Taster Afternoon – students will attend lessons based on their choices.
13th March 2025
Options Evening from 5.45pm – 8pm. A presentation about the Options process in the Theatre to all parent/carers and students. There will also be the opportunity to attend presentations about each option subject where the GCSE/Key Stage 4 curriculum will be explained in more detail.
