A Level Philosophy is one of the most successful KS5 courses in the school. The subject is challenging and demanding. Lots of schools offer ‘Philosophy and Ethics’ which results in an A Level in Religious Studies. A Level Philosophy is even more demanding than this. By thinking about the most difficult questions humanity can ask themselves, students end up thinking more clearly and being less phased by other life challenges.
CGS Philosophy students often go on to study the subject at university. We currently have students at Royal Holloway, University of London studying Philosophy and Philosophy Politics and Economics, and at Kings College University of London studying Religion, Philosophy and Ethics. There are also a number of past students who have found Philosophy invaluable while studying Law, Psychology and Computer Science and AI at university.
