Laura Pitt

Type of governor:  Ordinary Governor

Date first appointed: March 2018

Committees/Special responsibility: Teaching and Learning.

Background (employment, experience etc):  Currently Head of Geography and Year 8 coordinator at a local private school.

Why became a governor:  I have worked as a teacher for the previous 6 years and love working with young people. Becoming a governor would provide a different view and angle on the
running of a school. This experience would give me the opportunity to work with a group of specialists to enhance, improve and constantly work with the strengths of a school. I feel I have skills and experience where I would work effectively with a team of governors, as well as bring new ideas and views. This opportunity would also provide me with an insight into the other side of the workings of a school.
