Frances Walsh

Name: Frances Walsh

Type of governor: Headteacher.

Date first appointed: September 2017

Committees/Special responsibility: Leadership and Management, Finance and Resources.

Background (employment, experience etc): I have over 25 years of teaching experience. Over my career I have worked in and around London schools and educational settings. I have developed my educational experience with varying roles including Head of Modern Foreign Languages, Safeguarding Lead, as a Deputy Head leading on Curriculum, Pastoral Lead and behaviour as well as working with Local Authorities to develop quality assurance procedures and working within alternative provision. My passion continues to be to ensure that every child has access to an outstanding education as an entitlement.

Why became a governor: I am very proud to be Headteacher at Cox Green School. Throughout my time as a Senior Leader, teacher and now as Headteacher, I have worked hard to ensure that the students in my care achieve the very best, both academically but also socially. As a school, we are child centred - our students are always our priority. Our primary objective is to provide high quality learning for all - our students should leave every lesson feeling that they have been challenged and have made significant progress in skills, knowledge and understanding. It is our aim that students will leave Cox Green as confident, global citizens equipped to serve each other, parents and the wider community and move on to their chosen career path.
